Individual and couples THERAPIST IN San antonio, texas

IT’S TIME TO INVEST IN A HAPPIER, HEALTHIER FUTURE.

SWAPOMTHI GOVINDARAJU, LPC-ASSOCIATE

Supervised by Dr. Scott Peters, PhD

I’m Swapomthi.

(She/Her)

I’m a licensed professional counselor associate with years of experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I’m a San Antonio native, a mother of 3, a first generation American of South Asian Indian parents, and a person who has experienced loss.

More than anything, I come to you as an equal and fellow human on this journey towards wellness. I give you permission to be yourself and say what you need to say in a safe and supportive space.

I work hard to create an environment of compassion and positivity because I’ve been on a therapist’s couch before and I know just how important that was to me. If any of this resonates with you…

You’re in the right spot.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that you are your own best expert.

Imagine you're talking to someone who genuinely cares about you and wants to understand your feelings and thoughts without judging you. They're not there to give you advice or tell you what to do, but to listen attentively and help you figure things out for yourself. That is my approach to therapy.

I work hard to create a safe space where you can freely express yourself, whether it's about your challenges, concerns, or even your dreams. The focus is on you, your feelings, and your experiences.

The goal of therapy isn't to give you solutions or advice. Instead, it's to help you explore your own feelings and thoughts, which can lead to greater self-awareness and personal growth. Over time, you might find that this process helps you become more confident in making choices and dealing with challenges.

Here’s what I believe about therapy:

This isn't about becoming someone "different."

The goal of therapy is to help you become the best version of yourself, not to turn you into someone else entirely. It's about understanding your strengths, learning how to cope with challenges, and finding ways to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life while staying true to who you are.

The best investment you can make is in yourself.

In essence, going to therapy is an investment in your overall well-being, personal growth, and happiness. It's a proactive step toward living a more fulfilling and balanced life, and the benefits extend far beyond the therapy room.

You are inherently deserving of healthy, loving relationships.

Therapy helps you work through the barriers that might have led you to doubt your worthiness of healthy, loving relationships. It guides you toward a more compassionate and accepting view of yourself, allowing you to build and maintain relationships that are based on mutual respect, love, and understanding.
